The association of universities in Bogota, the British ELT publishers represented in Colombia, the Centro Colombo Americano, ASOCOPI, and the British Council are pleased to invite you to the 2010 National ELT Conference: Challenges for the ELT Syllabus: Developing Competencies for the 21st Century.

The conference will be held from April 21 - 23, 2010 at Universidad de La Salle, Sede Chapinero, Carrera 5 No. 59A-44, Bogota, Colombia.

This event is a forum for teachers, researchers, teacher educators, academic coordinators and all other ELT practitioners to share critical and constructive assessment of current English language teaching research and practice. Follow-up Session 2009 PDF E-mail


The organising committee of the National ELT Conference is proud to announce the follow-up session to the 12th National ELT Conference: Perspectives in Bilingualism. This session will feature researcher David Graddol – a British applied linguist who is well known as a writer, broadcaster, researcher and consultant on issues related to global English – and three Colombian keynote speakers who will expand on some of the topics discussed during the main conference held in April this year.

The Follow up session will be held at Universidad de la Salle, Sede Chapinero, Bogot√° on October 14, 2009, starting at 2:30pm.

All over for another year! PDF E-mail

Over 400 people attended this year's National ELT Conference between April 23 and 25, 2009. The theme of the conference was "Perspectives in Bilingualism: Current Views and Trends" and the attendees were treated to three days of dynamic and interesting plenary speeches and workshops. We will be publishing this year's presentations on the website in the coming weeks. For now you can view the Conference Blog and listen to Audio Testimonies from the conference.


The next National ELT Conference event will be the follow-up session in October. We will publish the details here soon.
